Windows Vista is the operating system that is automatically pre loaded with several mind blowing features but they all may not be helpful for your computer system. After Windows XP, Vista was released with so many features that would make any one fall for this platform. You have the right to optimize the computer system and can win over certain functions to be able to disable them which are otherwise not in use. Still many people don’t use all of the features and in this case it would be better to disable the unnecessary features.

Steps to disable unnecessary features in Windows Vista!

1. Select the Start button and then choose Control Panel.

2. Select the Programs icon.

3. The third step is to select the “Enable or disable” option for windows programs and features, under the same heading.

4. Then you will have to select the “Continue” tab.

5. After the above step, the list of the features present in the system will be shown. You have to uncheck the boxes of all those features that you do not want to use. For an instance, you can uncheck the box of Tablet Pc in case you do not have that or can also uncheck the games box if you are not using Windows games prior DFS Replication Service and so on. The choice is entirely yours.

6. Finally, Select the OK tab when you are done with it. You can again recheck them if the need arises.

If you need to have complete authoritative rule on to the Windows vista and its related features because you do not want the other users to make any changes to your computer and settings then you need to have the administrator account to your name. There are perhaps many reasons for why you would want this to do, but it’s always good to change the settings for privacy purpose. This way you can restrict the other users from making any changes to your computer and operating system in order to protect your files and folders.

To make Admin account on Windows Vista Business, Enterprise or Ultimate:

1. Click on Start button, type the phrase “secpol.msc” into the search box and press enter.

2. Then select the option “Local Policies” and further “Security Options”.

3. Now set the account “Administrator account” status to be “Enabled”.

4. Now set the User Account Control through “Admin Approval Mode” all for the in built Administrator account to be “Disabled”.

After following the above steps you will be logged on into the Windows Vista with complete administrative rights when you will log on next time. There will not be any prompting of security as it used to be earlier because now you have the complete authorities of the administrator for your computer system. Just follow the simple steps in right manner and your computer is ready to be used the way you desire and always wanted.

computer-virus-bugs-clip-art-thumb3167674Depending on the personality of your company’s IT department, it can be pretty be pretty belittling sometimes to ask them for help. As you notice your computer is running pretty slow, you call them up and ask for help. “I think I may have a virus.” “Please, that’s like saying a Jedi Knight has powers. Be more specific.” “Uhhh. Computer Virus?”on Knock them off their mismatched socks next time by studying this quick little snippet on the different types of computer viruses.

A virus is any unwanted program that infects your computer to decrease performance or cause damage. Viruses can attach to your computer by opening shady email attachments or visiting sites that aren’t trusted.

A Trojan is one of the different types of computer virus that gains access to your files by sneaking into your computers hard drive. After the Trojan is inside your computer it infects it so that secret programs can then be run. Just like you don’t invite a big wooden horse full of the enemy into your city, Trojans can be turned away with antivirus and antispyware programs.

Different types of devices that attach to a computer to monitor activity and keystrokes are known as spyware. The weird thing about spyware is that it is not always employed under illegal backgrounds. Sure, hackers may look to get into your information or bombard you with pop up adds but employers also use it to monitor employees.

You may think you’ve just gotten away with participating in that 5 hour online fantasy baseball draft but its documented somewhere. Just like finding one in your apple, a worm in your network can be annoying and distasteful. Worms are different types of computer viruses that get into the network community and bog down the system for all users.

Adwares also slow down your computer and attack you while browsing the Internet. As lucky as you may think you are being the 1,000,000th visitor to a site, the person after you and the next 1,000,000 after them get the same offer.

Finally, malwares get into your computer and are armed to do malicious acts. It doesn’t matter which virus you may think you’re at risk from, proper action should be taken to avoid them all.

There are a number of reasons that somebody would have to take the necessary steps to reinstall Vista on their home computer. A catastrophic event could have caused data loss or you may have spilled coffee into your system and had to reinstall a hard drive. When looking to reinstall Vista and keep the license key, you shouldn’t have any worries.

Some people may question whether they can repeatedly reinstall Vista and keep the license or if some anti-copying software will eventually repeal them. As long as the Vista copy is being reinstalled on the same computer, you can get away with several reboots without risking losing the licensing agreement.

Also, if you are removing Vista from your existing computer before transferring it to a new machine you are within the legal bounds of your agreement. You purchase the rights to use Vista as a whole and it doesn’t have to be restricted to a certain computer. If the reinstall Vista and keep license fails because the Microsoft server detects fraudulent measures, a call to the company may be necessary. After explaining your situation, the customer service representatives will provide you with a phone activation code to reset the process.

I just bought a new computer with windows vista home premium. I downloaded limewire and as expected I don’t have the proper codecs to play any videos. I know Klite codecs (Full) works on it but when I install it I don’t know what boxes I should check or uncheck to make sure all videos will play. Because when I just install it without checking any boxes it still won’t play any videos. Please be very specific and detailed when responding. To all Thank You!
