Here we see Steve Jobs & Bertrand Serlet showing us (yet again) just how much Microsoft loves to copy Apple.

@KuangSteak I am aware of that. If you read a bit into the history of the Newton, you will see that What Apple originally set out to make was a tablet computer. One early model was the size of an A4 piece? of paper and had a hard drive. It was eventually sized down into an “oversized pda” as you put it. Personally I feel a tablet and a PDA are the same things. Look up the definition of a tablet and the Newton fits. The only difference is size. But look how small some “tablets” coming out now are.
Guys you realize im trying to just prove a point and say it is really f**king hard to come up with original? ideas today.
@DaveTV2 BTW newton was not a? tablet, it was an oversized pda
@xRaIDeNx69 Maybe because the only real way to compete with Apple is TO copy them. I think you? are putting the cart before the horse. One can debate the importance of the comparisons made here but there is no debating the fact that Microsoft underhandedly stabbed Apple (a trusted partner at the time) in the back and intentionally ripped them off when creating Windows. There is no debating the fact that it was Apple that changed the mobile phone indust and Google simply copied Apple’s approach.
i love it when he disses the logo but apple’s has only changed colour? in the last so many years
If you’re competing with Apple and are a serious threat to them then you automatically “copy” them just like Microsoft and now, Android.
The comparasions made here are stupid and? won’t even get you anywhere in a lawsuit because they are manipulating things in a bad way to try and prove their point. Sort of like what they did when they photoshopped the iPad/iPhone pictures not too long ago in a lawsuit against Samsung or their recent lawsuits against Android now that its actually beating iOS.
To finish:
Both 5 & 6. Xerox did not invent either Douglas Engelbart did. Xerox simply took what he had created and advanced it as a way to make documents for their laser printers. It was not a typical OS. Apple advanced what they did just as Xerox had done previously and transformed it into a typical OS as we know it by innovating MANY things that make an OS like the trash can, drop down menus, overlapping? windows, drag and drop and many more that you use daily. MS simply copied that!
@KuangSteak Not saying that Apple does not occasionally adopt others ideas but lets clarify a few things:
1. As @kaielmonroe stated Appleworks was released in? 1984 Office in 1989
2. The Apple II released in 1977 had color. Windows 1.0 was not released till 1985
3. Apple invented the drop down menu as part of the Mac & Lisa GUI LONG before Google existed.
4. Microsoft did not invent the tablet. Apple didn’t either but they began working on one in 1987 which became the Newton.
Cont.
Accent of this guy who present after Steve Jobs was so idiot. Thumbs up if? you think so..
@KuangSteak iWork is simply the new version? of AppleWorks which is older than office
Let me name a few things apple has copied from other companies:
1. They copied office to make keynote, pages, etc
2. color, windows got that first
3. the ios 5 drop down menu, that is googles idea
4. the tablet, microsoft invented the tablet back in 2002
5. the mouse, xerox invented that
6. the graphical user interface, another xerox invention
So i think you can see that apple copies? other companies too
I need Microsoft to stopped doing Microsoft Office for a? Mac computer since today and stopped having send update and let Apple work on their own Office suite and have a look how Apple gonna feel.
Here it’s apple?
Bill gates’? greatest invention is his daughter……. he so copies mac!!!!!!!!!!!!
@Jullzzzz It’s true though, they integrated the search into the bottom left hand corner? because it’s the place where the start menus been for ages and where you explore the system…
@Jullzzzz Not sure I follow your question. If by “pos” you mean Piece of Shit I for one certainly would have never said such a thing.?
@jjoeshaw hahahaha what you smoking matee?
@DaveTV2 how was mac os a? pos?
@hyylo To be clear, Bill Gates never worked directly FOR Apple as an actual “employee”. Bill Gates / Microsoft were? hired as outside contractors to write software and applications for Apple. Lots of people out there see to think he at one point was employed by Apple but that is not the case. Your point is accurate though. There is a long history there and Steve Jobs had every right to be pissed, hold a grudge or make fun of their crappy products publicly.
@TheMumppa
you need to look at the history of windows and apple and try to understand why they hate each other.
bill gates once worked for apple but copied apple and created windows.
also (about 15 years ago) steve jobs tried to give every american school a free ‘Apple 2′? computer but Microsoft stopped Apple from doing it.
@MFSR98 Well I live in Europe and sometimes Windows accused me of Piracy even though I had a genuine full retail version of vista ultimate. The code just would not work it happened? to me on several occasions there was even a support thread for it on ms forums.
@WARP10CK oh really? I didn´t? have any problems.
Oh and isn’t it funny how the mac? os x lion mail app copied the windows live mail app…
On the bottom left? You mean where the start menu’s been for? ages?
They look nothing? alike…
