I was personalizing my start menu and I somehow dragged the folder ‘start menu’ onto my desktop. It’s not a shortcut – it is the original so it cannot be deleted. I want it off my desktop.. how do I restore it to wherever it was? Everytime I try to move it elsewhere it only creates shortcuts.

Try doing a System Restore to the day before you started personalizing your desktop. If you deleted any programs, they’ll return so just delete them again.
