I have Windows Vista. I am trying to save a document in Word 2007. I don’t know where “save as” is. Please help. Thanks.

in the upper left screen you’ll see a disk click on it or try holding ctrl and s and that should pop up the save box. its sucks lol

On the very top left, just left of the traditional save icon (looks like a floppy) is a circle with the office insignia. Click on that circle. “Save As” will be the fourth option down.

As a reminder: Word 2007 is NOT backwards compatible. If you are sending this to someone else, or yourself where you will not have access to Word 2007, you must save the file as a Word 97-03 document. You can do this in “Save As”.

I hope this helps!

The “save as” command is found under the logo in the top left hand corner (when you place your mouse over it – it says “Office Button”). Click on the logo and select Save As. If you want to be able to open it in 97 – 2003 versions – right across from the Save As button is the Word 97 – 2003 button.

Here’s a couple of tools for you.

This is the Word 2007 training site (free): http://office.microsoft.com/en-ca/training/CR100654561033.aspx

Click on the “Up to Speed with Word 2007″ – it’s a quick course that tells you how to get around in the new 2007 format.

Another great tool in the interactive Word 2003 to 2007 Command Reference Guide (free):
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/word/HA100744321033.aspx

Click on Start the Guide. You’ll see the old version of Word (2003) come up. Select a function (such as File Save As) and it will show you where the new function is located.

The new system takes a bit to get used to but the layout does make sense. If however, you are extremely frustrated there is an add-on program you can purchase from Windows Marketplace. Here’s the link: http://www.windowsmarketplace.com/details.aspx?view=info&itemid=3375662 for $10 U.S.

I haven’t tried this program.

Hopefully you find these tools helpful.

Or use simple and widely used shortcut CTRL + S :-)

Or you can use classic short cut CTRL + S.
