In windows XP the Run option is by default available in the start menu but in Windows Vista this feature is not present by default as instead of Run option search box is present in the start menu. The search box is the place where you enter the desired topic and you will see the results if there are any.
For adding the run option you will have to make an extra effort by altering the administrative or registration settings.
How to Set the Run option in the Windows Vista Start menu?
1) Just by right clicking on the Start button symbol select the option “Properties.”
2) The properties dialog box opens up, from there go to the Start menu tab and select the “Customize” button.
3) Now you just need to check out the option “Run Command” in order to enforce the alterations you have made.
4) Select the OK button and finally click on “Apply” button.
5) Now the Run command is present in the Start menu window and is within your reach.
In case you want to remove the “Run command” from the start menu, you just have to repeat the above mentioned steps and need to uncheck the Run option box. You are then done with it. Now, you can use your computer according to your needs and desires. Windows Vista has got so many features that you can’t resist to trying your hand on them.
