I went on the website and there were two different prices. one was for if you already have windows 7 and want to upgrade the other’s price was way higher. So I want to know if windows vista premium is already windows 7 or what?

No, Windows Vista Premium is NOT Windows 7. It’s as it says it is, Windows Vista Premium.

The different prices you saw were, most likely, the Upgrade Version and the Full Version.

I don’t believe you can upgrade the Premium version of Vista to the Ultimate version of Windows 7. You’ll need to buy the Full version.

For those who already have Windows 7 Home Premium, there would be an “Anytime Upgrade” to Windows 7 Ultimate.

You can’t use that. You don’t have Windows 7 Home Premium. You have Windows Vista Home Premium.

You would want to look at the “full” version of Windows 7 Ultimate, or the “upgrade” version of Windows 7 Ultimate. The upgrade version just wants to see your prior XP or Vista OS, and you CAN upgrade from Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 Ultimate. You don’t really need the full discs unless you’re going to a blank hard drive.

The following “upgrade” version would likely be what you’d want, but I’d also keep in mind you likely don’t really need the additional features of Ultimate.
