In case you are a user who is encountering a trouble of slow processing or slow running of certain program or application on your Windows Vista operating system then you must alter up the procedure priorities in order to Tune the system. In case some program or process is lesser important but still taking so much of time of the Central Processing Unit then you will be able to lessen the priorities and as per your desire push the more significant process.

How to change Process Priorities to Tune Your System:

1. First, Right-click on a vacuous area of the taskbar of the Windows Vista.

2. After this step select “Start Task Manager”.

Moreover, you have the right to skip up these two steps and simply press Ctrl + Shift + Esc combination to open up the real Task Manager.

3. “Windows Task Manager” dialog box will open up. You must assure it that the “Applications” tab is chosen by default otherwise choose it your self.

4. In case the process which you wish to alter is in real linked and related to application then just right-click it and select “Go to Process” as soon as the popup menu appears.

5. Otherwise, click the “Processes tab” in order to search a process which you wish to alter.

6. Then the other step is to Right-click a process and then click on “Set Priority” button.

7. Select any priority from following priorities from highest to lowest:
* Realtime
* High
* Above Normal
* Normal
* Below Normal
* Low

8. Finally click on to the “Change priority” tab.
